The bar for inclusion is that the game would be worth buying at three times the price: everything here is 87% positive or better on Steam — including the one deliberate, explained skip. This is a list for filling a library properly, not for hoarding bundle shovelware.

Disco Elysium, the best-written game on this or any list, was 2,98 € at key shops when we checked. A detective RPG with no combat where your own skills argue inside your head — the kind of purchase that quietly rearranges your standards for the medium.
04 Terraria
Terraria was 1,78 € at its checked key-shop low — the deepest 2D adventure-builder there is, with 1.5 million reviews at 97%. Priced per hour of content, this is functionally free; it is on this list because leaving it off would be negligence.
05 Vampire Survivors
Vampire Survivors was 2,75 € when we checked — the most compulsive run-game of the decade. It invented a genre, it runs on anything, and its DLC policy is famously generous. The cheapest serious threat to your sleep schedule on Steam.
06 Dead Cells
Dead Cells, the smoothest action-roguelike ever made, was 2,46 € at key shops at this check — 97% positive from 182,000 reviews, years of free updates, and combat that games ten times the price still get compared against.
07 Slay the Spire
Slay the Spire, the genre-defining deckbuilder, sat at 5,36 € at its checked low. Thousands of hours of decision-making live in this purchase, and it never goes stale — the community is still discovering things a decade of metagame later.
08 Hollow Knight
Hollow Knight was 6,59 € when we checked — the modern metroidvania benchmark, whose base game is so large that its planned DLC became a full sequel. In cost-per-quality terms, one of the most embarrassing comparisons available to full-priced games.
09 Titanfall 2
Titanfall 2 was 2,91 € at its checked key low — the best pure first-person-shooter campaign of its era: inventive, warm-hearted, and over in a tight afternoon-and-evening. Perpetually cheap because it launched between two giants; perpetually recommended because nothing filled its slot.
10 Frostpunk
Frostpunk was 1,76 € at its checked key low: the coal-and-conscience city builder where every law you pass to survive costs part of your soul. The rare strategy game that people remember as a story they lived.
11 Monster Train
Monster Train is a top-three deckbuilder that was 2,18 € when we checked — faster and more generous than Slay the Spire, with build ceilings that reward greed. At this price, buying it alongside Spire is the correct play, not a choice.
SKIP12 Fallout: New Vegas
Skip if you will not touch mods — unpatched New Vegas on modern hardware means crashes and broken quests, and the 96% rating assumes a community-patched install. Ten minutes of setup buys one of the great RPGs; zero minutes buys frustration. Disco Elysium is the no-setup alternative for writing this good.
